History[edit | edit source]
Somewhere along the way, I got some dates and times wrong. What I will do here is lay out a timeline, then I will lay out the retcons concerning the game up to this point. The corrections aren't major, but do affect the perception of passed time.
1939 AR - Lomari people begin their wanderings of the Kalayan coast led by the charismatic Zosheer Loh 1979 AR - Zosheer Log dies of natural causes 1980 AR - City of Lomar founded 2087 AR - City of Hurhun sacked by armies of Lomar 2090 AR - Wohdwa Palace abandoned and declared off limits by the imperator after Princess Yilar attempted a coup. 2203 AR - Current year
So, what are the changes? Glad you asked.
I made comments on how long Kosh had been in the ruins of the palace. I believe I said 250 years. Very wrong.
The abandoning of Wohdwa Palace was 113 years ago. Kosh had been summoned and stuck there for 114 years.
Consider it RetConned.
While I am at it, you've been in Lomar as a pair for about four days I believe at this point. Current date is the 15th day of Samon (August).
Religions[edit | edit source]
- Jhebbal Sag
- Derketo
Languages[edit | edit source]
Most people in Thule are bilingual to a greater or lesser extent. They know the language of their home city or tribe and converse fluently in that tongue. They also know some amount of “Common” or “Low” Atlantean, a simple version of the High Atlantean language. Speakers of Common Atlantean get by with a couple of thousand words and some standard phrases, but can converse well enough for all but the most complicated or nuanced concepts. The more isolated barbarians have little use for a common language, and it’s not unusual to find that particularly reclusive or hostile tribes don’t understand any Atlantean at all.
Fame, Power, Sanity[edit | edit source]
Arms and Armor[edit | edit source]
Unless stated otherwise, you can assume that any metallic armor your character encounters is made from bronze scales, rings, or plates, and that any metallic weapon your character finds is likewise made of bronze. Since the great majority of Thule’s warriors are armed and armored in bronze, there is no special penalty or bonus in most combat situations.
Food[edit | edit source]
- Mudsucker - A bottom-feeding fish from the river. Roughly three foot in length and weighing in from 15 to 20 pounds, these fish make up a large part of the fish intake for the lower classes in Lomar. Most often associated as "bar food" due to its availability and that the grease that it secretes as it cooks can be used to cook other foods such as suma, battered obgulu, or dazi.
- Suma - a banana-shaped potato, red in hue, hearty and easy to grow.
- Obgulu - a non-layered onion-like bulb, light in flavor, often dried and used as seasoning, or sliced, dropped in batter and deep-fried.
- Dazi - a deep-fried pastry of sorts. Made differently by almost every person in Lomar who makes it, but is essentially a dollop of batter dropped into boiling oil, scooped out, and rolled in sugar. Some variations dip hardened cheese into the batter, boil, scoop it, and serve with a sweet sauce.
Oddities[edit | edit source]
- Snake-tongue Opium - an opioid plant with very, very little of the intoxicating substance that most associate with the various lotus plants. Most don't even know that this is part of the same family of plant. Named for the small petals that grow in red bunches that resemble small snake tongues. When dried and smoked, they create a very minor sense of euphoria.
